Opening:
The meeting was called to order at 6:16 pm by Co-President Diane Sawin
Introductions:

Approval of Last Meeting Minutes:
May 20, 2004 minutes were approved and seconded
Treasurer’s Report:
Delta Kappa Gamma’s financial records for the past year have been audited and approved.
Pam DeBernardi briefly talked about scholarships.
Our scholarship money has been put in a separate account.
Correspondence:
President’s packet was only correspondence presented.
International Business:
Mary Ellen Taylor told about the Conference that is to be in San Diego in 2006. Mary Ellen also encouraged every member to become a member of the “Life Foundation.” Sue Smith is the liaison. Membership is free.
Chi State Business:
A flyer was available detailing the program for the Chi State Info Fair for Areas III, IV, and V., October 9, 2004 in San Jose, CA. The info fair is a way to learn about the society. A gift basket is being put together for the fair.
Chapter Business:
Roseann Krane presented several ideas for programs for the coming year.
Each committee is to plan and organize a program for one month’s meeting.
Members signed up for committees (each committee had a brief meeting to discuss a program for the coming year.
An update was given concerning the Back Packs. Several (40) backpacks have been purchased and members are encouraged to bring school items for the backpacks.
Announcements:
Carmen Curtis encouraged members to attend the Retired Teachers’ Assn.
meeting and luncheon October 6 in Walnut Creek.
Christmas Angels – sign-ups will be in October.
Directory changes – each member was to check information for Directory and make necessary changes. Sue Smith reminded members to check for accuracy of e-mail addresses.
Adjournment:
Meeting was adjourned at 6:50 pm.
Dinner was served.
Birthday cards were distributed to “September birthdays”.
Program:
Two of the Recipient Grant Award winners were introduced and each gave a brief presentation. The third award winner was unable to be present this month so next month she will be present to give a brief presentation. (See above for Award winner names.)
