SEPTEMBER 19, 2006

1. Call to order:  by Roseann Krane at 6:10 p.m.

2. Inspiration:  Happy Birthday was sung to those that have birthdays in September

3. Welcome:  Introductions
   1. Area III Representative, Marilyn Gage, Castro Valley
   2. Guests – Ann Shinsky, 3^rd visit; Linda Brickley, Retired English Teacher from Monte Vista High School, 1^st visit; Georgia Moore, 3^rd visit;  Stephanie Brown-Myers, Special Education – Speech, San Ramon District, 1^st visit.
   3. Jessie Falconer Scholarship Recipients – (1) Rosemary Coleridge, Chapman University, Teaching Credential English and Multiple Subject

(2) Sarah Partney, 1^st grade at Cambridge in Mt. Diablo District, Chapman, MA in Multiple Subject; (3) Terry Nelson, mother of Nicole a junior , Sonoma State; BA in Liberal Studies; (4) Aileen Mortensen, Masters in Library Science at Holy Names College, (5) Felicia  Lang, St. Mary’s,  MA and Reading Specialist Credential ; (6) Wende Sanders, Level 2 – Special Education,

4. Initiation of Officers:  The following were installed as officers for the next

 biennium:  Roseann Krane and Loretta Wilhelmsen as Co-Presidents; Marilyn

Steichen as Recording Secretary; Lola Ganse as First Vice President; Sydney

Allison as Treasurer;  Kit King as Second Vice President, and Bobbie Mortensen

as Parliamentarian.  (Diana Sawin is Co-Parliamentarian but she was not present.)

5.  Delta Kappa Gamma Society Business:
   1. Secretary – Minutes of May Meeting were approved as presented.
   2. Treasurer’s Report was accepted as presented by Sydney

a.       $7900 given to scholarship recipients tonight – balance will be $1760.09

3.      CD as of 9-17-07 (matures) $3754.20

            Roseann expecially enjoyed the International Speakers

Bobbi – excellent entertainment, workshops were good

Jeanne – Sue made a bookmark for each of us, new International Member

– formerly an astronaut, DKG a very philanthropic organization

                  f.   Emergency fund – The State is asking chapters to donate money - $100
